Your Visit

"Upon your arrival at Plumyumi Day Spa, your senses will be instantly engaged with your first step into our lower lobby. The muscles in your shoulders will begin to relax as your gaze lingers on our tranquil fountain allowing the harmony of gentle of water and soft music will drown out the noises of daily life."

Scheduling Policy

As our valued guest, you are our primary focus. We strive to accommodate your individual needs and schedule when you desire a spa service. If we do not have an appointment time available that is convenient for you, then we will be happy to place you on a waiting list to be contacted in the event that another client cancels during your preferred service time.

If you are seeking a same day or last minute appointment due to an unforeseen reason and find that our schedule is full, then we will do our best to accommodate your request. Our therapist are extremely customer-centric and are often willing to extend their work schedule or to come in on an off-day when such a need is warranted. Such needs may include, but are not limited to a client’s need for therapeutic massage due to a sudden onset of muscle tension or a client’s desire for a facial or nail service in preparation for an important event.

Cancellation Policy

Because we reserve time especially for you, we ask for at least a 24-hour advance notice when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. We understand that conflicts arise and plans can change with little or any notice. However, if you need to cancel an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Keep in mind that refunds may not be possible should you cancel on the same day as your appointment.

Last minute cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the reserved service amount. “No shows” are subject to a fee of 100% fee equal to the reserved service amount.

Good hygiene is appreciated by your therapists and we ask that you refrain from arriving to your appointment directly from the gym, or other strenuous activity. Shaving is NOT recommended the same day of your appointment. Shaving the morning of your appointment is okay, but if you have a morning appointment scheduled, then the night before is preferred. A 24-hour period between shaving and services greatly reduces your risk of irritation or infection from open wounds on the skin..

Shaving Recommendations Prior to Your Appointment

For women, when it comes to leg shaving and body massages, wraps and/or scrubs, it is usually recommended that you shave at least two hours prior to your appointment. Similar advice is given to men undergoing facials. Having a treatment shortly after shaving can be particularly problematic and cause some level of discomfort or irritation.

When should I arrive at the spa?

We encourage you to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order for you to get the most from your spa visit and to avoid being late for your booked treatments. If this is your first visit to Plumyumi, then you will be asked to complete client information forms to ensure you receive the highest level of care and accommodations aligning with your individual needs and requirements. Take this opportunity to inform the staff of any medical or skin conditions you have in advance. There are some treatments which are not suitable for those with certain medical conditions or skin ailments. The information you provide will be kept entirely confidential and only viewed by your specific therapist or technician.

Can I use my mobile phone at the spa?

We ask that mobile devices be turned off or silenced when in the relaxation rooms or the service areas. Not only is observance of this policy considerate of other spa clients, it will serve to enhance your own personal relaxation experience as well.

What can I expect during my spa treatments?

All good spa treatments start with a consultation. The therapist or technician will review your client information form and will ask you specific questions for clarification in order to best cater the treatment to your specific needs. The therapist or technician should then talk you through the stages of the treatment, explaining the purpose and benefits of each.

Let them out. Massage affects people differently but can allow for a cleansing emotional release.

Schedule a follow-up massage
Massage is a for of passage exercise. The body best benefits from consistency and each session builds upon the next. Regular scheduled massages rebuild the muscle memory to alleviate tension points.

Is tipping customary? How much should I tip?

While tipping between 15% and 20% is common practice for spa services, this is a matter of personal preference and is left up to each individual client. Tips should be left at reception, as opposed to being handed directly to therapist or technician. Envelopes are available at the reception desk for your convenience.

Do I have to talk during my spa treatments?

The extent of conversation is primarily up to you. Our staff members are trained to recognize when a client wants to be silent and simply enjoy their treatment. However, you should ensure you communicate clearly with your therapist throughout your treatments - if they are massaging you too hard, for example, you will want to make this clear so they can change the pressure applied. Do not simply sit through any process you find uncomfortable just because you are in the hands of an expert.

What happens after my services/treatment(s) are complete?

At the conclusion of your service and/or treatment, your therapist/technician may recommend various products for purchase to as part of your continued “home” regimen of treatment. While we are confident that such recommendations and the products we offer are of the highest quality, please understand that you are not obligated to purchase these products.

Before leaving Plumyumi, we encourage you to browse through our boutique or spend additional moments of quietude in one of our relaxation rooms. You are welcome to enjoy another complimentary cup of hot tea or a glass of flavored water.
